Keith Crowned Kingfisher Voice of Goa


MARGAO - Keith Antao from Uttorda was crowned the Kingfisher Voice of Goa at a glittering fun-filled event at Go Karting track on November 9, while Charuta Joshi from Margao won the Indian language category at the fourth edition of the talent search competition.
The Member of Parliament from South Goa, Mr Francisco Sardinha was the chief guest; the chairperson of GTDC, Mr Shyam Satardeker; the vice president of Kingfisher,
Mr Govind Tiwari, besides top officials from Kingfisher were present at the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sardinha expressed happiness that the talent hunt, which has been going on for the last four year had given exposure to many young aspiring Goans and hoped that the event will continue in the years to come. He urged the participants to make maximum use of their talent and take the legacy of Goan musicians all over the world.
The highlight of the event was guest performance by Krishna Kumar Kunnath or simply K K who enthralled the 2,000 odd audiences who swayed and danced to some of the popular songs by celebrated artist. The event also saw the release of a 'single' by Dr Varun Carvalho called Amchem Goem by the vice president of Kingfisher. Dr Carvalho later performed the single live, penned by him. It speaks about the beauty of Goa and the need to preserve it.
The winner of kingfisher voice of Goa won cash prize of Rs 50,000 besides a year's contract with the company to perform at various places over the next year.

This year too brought in a shoal of talented musicians from across Goa. Of the 10 semi-finalist, Francis-Leo Vaz, Keith Antao and Celine Trellis made it to the final round. Though all three sizzled with their voices, judges Sergei Godinho, Ravi Coutinho and celebrity judge and singer KK opted for Keith Antao as this year’s winner.

The crowd was also treated to a special performance by the singer, who belted out hit songs from various popular Hindi films. Music band Lynx also performed as fillers. Chief guest Fransisco Saldanha was seen enjoying the performances, as he was all smiles for the cameras.

The night in Nuvem saw an impressive crowd who battled the winter chill to come and cheer the contestants. Among them were Ivo Coutinho, Narendra Patkar ad Ujjwal Gaur. Johnny Rebello of Beethovan’s Beat group, Danny Monteiro and their wives were also spotted having a good time.
